Now that you have your personal favorite type of coffee bean, selected your type of roast and just ground the coffee, you have a variety of recipes to make a gourmet coffee. Remove the used grounds from your machine after the coffee is finished brewing. If grounds are allowed to continue dripping after the coffee is done, the bean oils will sully the drink and add a bitter flavor. Never run grounds through a coffee machine more than once. Be sure to clean all coffee grinders and equipment after use to avoid tainting the flavor of your next coffee brew. Rinsing your equipment with vinegar every few weeks will prevent the build up of stale coffee residue.

Organic coffee, like other organic or all natural foods, is sold in an entirely different section of your local supermarket. This type of coffee is sold in caffeinated and decaffeinated as well as flavoured with vanilla, chocolate hazelnut or anything else you can think of that regular coffee comes in. Organic flavored coffee (like other all-natural products) must contain a seal indicating it is, in fact, organic. This is an FDA classification and cannot be overlooked.

Selecting the blend is important when making espresso drinks, as it is for any kind of coffee drinks. The factors to concentrate on are sweetness, aromatics and smoothness.Also, the type of grinder used is important. The best choice is a conical burr grinder. This will produce a consistent grind (the particles will all be the right size), and will also make sure that the coffee does not overheat as it is ground (this would spoil the aroma).
